COMPARATIVE

SuperPack NG Lithium vs AGM

Is it worth the jump to lithium? Here are all the facts to help you decide.

Lithium LiFePO4

SuperPack NG

  • Life Cycles+2500 cycles
  • Depth of discharge (DoD)80-100%
  • Charging/discharging efficiency98-99%
  • Weight (100Ah 12V)~14 kg
  • Monthly self-discharge<3%
  • MaintenanceNone
  • Initial investmentMayor
💰 Cost per actual Wh: Lithium is cheaper in the long run because of its 5-10x longer durability.
🔋

AGM / GEL

Sealed lead acid

  • Life Cycles300-500 cycles
  • Depth of discharge (DoD)50% maximum
  • Charging/discharging efficiency80-85%
  • Weight (100Ah 12V)~28-30 kg
  • Monthly self-discharge3-5%
  • MaintenanceUnder
  • Initial investmentMenor
Valid when: Tight budget, static installation and infrequent use.

🏆 FVComponents verdict: If your installation is in a van, camper van or with intensive daily use → lithium always. For static installations with occasional use → AGM is valid.

INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION

How to install the SuperPack NG

Installation is straightforward thanks to the integrated BMS. No need for external management equipment.

⚙️ Load parameters in MPPT

Parameter 12.8V (100Ah) 25.6V (50Ah)
Tension absorption 14.2V 28.4V
Floating tension 13.5V 27.0V
MPPT battery type Lithium (select in VictronConnect)
Max. load current 0.5C = 50A 0.5C = 25A
Low voltage cut-off 11.0V 22.0V

🔌 Installation steps

  1. Select location (well ventilated, horizontal)
  2. Connect the pole negative first to terminal B-
  3. Connect the positive pole to terminal B+.
  4. Install fuse on positive (near battery)
  5. Set the MPPT to Lithium with the parameters of the table
  6. Open the VictronConnect app and verify the SOC
✅ You do not need external BMS. The SuperPack NG has an integrated BMS that protects against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature.
⚠️ Important: Do not use lead-acid chargers without first configuring them for lithium. A standard AGM charger can damage the battery.
APPLICATIONS AND CONFIGURATIONS

How many batteries do I need?

You can connect up to 5 units in parallel to increase capacity. Here you have guides for the most frequent cases.

🚐

Basic van

Consumption ~500Wh/day

1x

SuperPack 12.8V/100Ah

= 1280 usable Wh

  • ✅ 12V refrigerator (40W x 24h)
  • ✅ LED lights + mobile charging
  • ✅ Occasional small TV
🏕️

Advanced camper

Consumption ~1200Wh/day

2x

SuperPack 12.8V/100Ah

= 2560 usable Wh

  • ✅ All of the above
  • ✅ Coffee machine 230V (with inverter)
  • ✅ 2 days without sunshine of autonomy
🏠

Off-grid small

Consumption ~2500Wh/day

4x

SuperPack 25.6V/50Ah

= 5120 usable Wh

  • ✅ Cottage or small house
  • ✅ Basic household appliances
  • ✅ 2 days full autonomy

🔗 Parallel connection

To connect multiple SuperPack NGs in parallel: connect the B+ terminals to each other and the B- terminals to each other with identical section and length. The BMS of each unit will automatically communicate to balance the load.

✅ Max. 5 units in parallel
Same model and capacity
✅ Cables of equal length
Do not mix with AGM/GEL.
