Victron Orion DC/DC Booster DC/DC Converters

Victron Orion DC/DC Booster converters allow you to charge a service battery from another battery or from the vehicle alternator, without mixing the two electrical banks. They are the key component in camper, marine and service vehicle installations where a separate starter battery and a separate consumer battery coexist.

Unlike a conventional battery separator, the Orion intelligently regulates the output voltage - it prevents over-discharging of the starter battery, manages charging in multiple stages and is compatible with intelligently regulated alternators (BMS in modern vehicles) that reduce voltage when they detect that the starter battery is charged.
