A 16 kWh battery has become the standard size for domestic batteries in Spain: it covers the night-time consumption of a home with an air-source heat pump or an electric car without being oversized. We have compared the five most relevant options on the market to 22 September 2026, with retail prices from Spanish shops converted to euros excluding VAT to ensure that the comparison is consistent.

1. BSLBATT B-LFP48-300PW — the best capacity-to-price ratio
16.07 kWh in a single wall-mounted unit 51.2 V, with 15.27 kWh of usable capacity (95% DoD), 10.24 kW continuous discharge and peak discharge of 12.8 kW. Over 8,000 cycles claimed and a 10-year warranty. At €99/kWh, it is by far the lowest price per kilowatt-hour in this comparison, and as it is a single unit, it saves on cabling, communications and installation time compared to stacking three 5 kWh modules.
Its CAN/RS485 communication has been validated with a very extensive list of investors: Victron, Studer, Deye, Solis, SolaX LV, Goodwe, SUNSYNK, SAJ or SMA Sunny Island. Downsides: it has an IP20 rating, so it must be installed indoors, and it weighs 135 kg, although it does have wheels.

2. Pylontech US5000 ×3 — the tried-and-tested modular option
Three 4.8 kWh rack-mounted modules add up to a rated capacity of 14.4 kWh and a usable capacity of 13.68 kWh. It is probably the 48 V battery system with the most installations in Spain and the most proven compatibility (Victron, Voltronic, Solis, Deye, Sofar). Its advantage is that it can be expanded module by module; its drawback is that, at €187/kWh, it costs almost twice as much per kWh as the BSLBATT and requires a 19-inch rack.
3. Dyness Tower T14 — the cheapest high-voltage option
14.21 kWh usable at 384 V in a tower design, IP54-rated and 8.52 kW continuous. At €247/kWh, it is the most affordable high-voltage tower with open compatibility: Deye/SUN, Goodwe, Solis, Kostal and Luxpower. It’s the logical choice if you have a high-voltage hybrid inverter and don’t want to be tied to a single brand.
4. Sungrow SBR160 — for those who already have a Sungrow inverter
Rated at 16 kWh with a discharge depth of 100 %, IP55 rating and a 3.2 kWh modular tower design. Technically, it is a very robust battery, but in practice it is only compatible with Sungrow SH-RS/RT hybrid systems, so the price of €306/kWh only makes sense within that ecosystem. Please note: we have seen huge price variations between retailers for the same model, so it is worth comparing prices.
5. BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM 16.6 — the open tier-1
16.56 kWh at 307 V, IP55 and up to ~15 kW discharge. It is the only one on the list that combines a tier-1 brand, high voltage and open compatibility with Fronius, SMA, Kostal, Goodwe, Sungrow and Victron. The price is: €308/kWh, and the price range across Spanish retailers reaches €4,000.
How to choose
- If the criterion is the cost per kWh stored, the BSLBATT is currently unrivalled in the 16 kWh category, provided it is installed indoors and the inverter is a 48 V model.
- If your inverter is a high-voltage model, the choice is between the Dyness T14 (price) and the BYD HVM 16.6 (brand and power).
- If you already have a Huawei, Sungrow or Growatt, the battery is specified by the inverter: compare within the same brand, not across different brands.
- If you’re going to grow in stages, a 5 kWh modular system allows you to start small; if the required capacity is already clear, a single large module works out cheaper and is less prone to faults.
