Pylontech is the manufacturer of lithium batteries for solar energy storage offering the best value for money on the market, and the de facto standard for installations using Victron inverters. Its US2000C, US3000C and US5000 modules are probably the most widely installed 48 V batteries in Spain.
Which Pylontech model to choose
US5000 · 4.8 kWh at 48 V: Our best-seller and our default recommendation. It offers the best price per kWh in the range and has sufficient charging and discharging currents for most domestic installations.
US3000C · 3.5 kWh: when you need to optimise capacity or when space is limited.
US2000C · 2.4 kWh: the input module, which is useful for small installations or for expanding an existing bank in smaller increments.
UP2500 · 2.84 kWh at 24 V: the option when the system is operating at 24 volts rather than 48.
They all pile up in rack cabinet and are connected in parallel to increase capacity. Up to a certain number of modules can be combined, depending on the model, without mixing different series within the same bank.
Integration with Victron
This is its strong point and the reason for its popularity. Pylontech units communicate via CAN with the Victron system, so that the MultiPlus-II and the Cerbo GX They monitor the battery’s actual state of charge and automatically adjust voltages and currents using DVCC control. There is no need to configure profiles manually.
We have published the complete guide to Configuring a MultiPlus-II 48/5000 with a Pylontech US5000, which is the combination we use most often.
Pylontech or Pytes
These are the two products most frequently compared in the 48 V category. Pylontech comes out on top in terms of price and the number of installations where it has been tried and tested; Pytes offers better current performance. We have the Comparison of the Pytes V5 and the Pylontech US5000 based on data from real-world installations, so you can make an informed decision.
