Fox ESS: hybrid inverters and high-voltage batteries for self-consumption

Fox ESS is a manufacturer specialising in power electronics and photovoltaic storage, with an annual production capacity of over 3 GW. It is headquartered in Wenzhou (China) and has had a European subsidiary since 2019. Its product range caters to residential self-consumption and small-scale industrial applications with a high-voltage system architecture: a hybrid inverter combined with a battery tower, all managed via the FoxCloud app.

Single-phase hybrid inverters

The series H1 (G2) It ranges from 3 to 6 kW, with two independent MPPT trackers, a maximum PV input voltage of 480 V, a backup EPS output and a high-voltage battery ranging from 80 to 480 V. It supports up to 20 units in parallel and has a photovoltaic oversizing ratio of 1.5:1.

Three-phase hybrid inverters

The series P3-S Covers 5 to 15 kW with up to three MPPT trackers, 950 V input, 97.9 % maximum efficiency, switchover to backup in less than 10 ms and IP65 rating for outdoor installation.

EP and EQ high-voltage batteries

The modules EP5 (5.18 kWh, 192 V) and EP11 (10.36 kWh, 384 V) are prismatic LiFePO4 batteries with an IP65 rating, suitable for outdoor use and expandable to up to four units in parallel, totalling 41.6 kWh. The EQ4800 range It is stacked in a tower configuration of 4.66 kWh per module, up to 41.93 kWh.

Monitoring and assurance

The DDSU666 and DTSU666 meters and the Wi-Fi/LAN and 4G dongles complete the system. The inverters come with a standard 5-year warranty, which can be extended to 10 or 15 years by registering with FoxPro within 36 months of commissioning.
