What is the Dyness PowerBox G2 used for?
This is Dyness’s 10 kWh battery, designed for those who want a single unit mounted on the wall to cover the night-time energy consumption of an average home. Thanks to its IP65 rating, it can be mounted in an unheated garage, on a porch or on the building’s façade, and with a depth of just 165 mm, it takes up hardly any space. It operates on:
- Self-consumption with a battery with a 48 V hybrid inverter.
- Off-grid installations with Victron, MultiPlus-II, Quattro or SMA Sunny Island.
- Support in the event of network outages.
Main features
Discharge at 1C: 10.24 kW with a single battery
It delivers 200 A continuously and up to 300 A for 2 minutes (at 25 °C). A single PowerBox G2 is sufficient for a 5 kVA inverter, including start-up peaks.
Charging at -20 °C with self-heating
With the heating function (optional), the battery heats itself when the temperature drops below 0 °C and reaches charging temperature within an hour, without any manual intervention. Without heating, it charges between 0 °C and 55 °C.
Integrated fire-fighting
It features an active system that detects and extinguishes a fire in its early stages within 5 seconds, with automatic pressure relief.
IP65: water- and dust-resistant
It is resistant to rain, dust and harsh conditions, making it suitable for outdoor installation.
Thinner and lighter than its predecessor
It is 30 % smaller in volume and 15 % lighter than the previous generation. It can be wall-mounted or placed on the floor.
Wi-Fi and the Dyness app
Real-time monitoring via mobile phone and remote firmware updates (OTA).

Compatibility with inverters
The PowerBox G2 is included in Dyness’s official compatibility list for low-voltage batteries (July 2026) and in the official Victron Energy documentation (October 2026). Compatible brands: Victron Energy (MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, Quattro, Quattro-II and the 48 V RS range), SMA Sunny Island, Ingeteam, Deye, GoodWe, Solis, Growatt, Afore, APsystems, Luxpower and others.
And what about Fronius? The Fronius GEN24 models only support high-voltage batteries, so the PowerBox G2 cannot be connected directly. If you already have a Fronius system, we can integrate it using a Victron or MultiPlus-II with an AC connection.
How to set up the Dyness PowerBox G2 with Victron
- GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or MultiPlus-II GX) running Venus OS v3.31 or later; MultiPlus/Quattro with firmware version 469 or later; RS range 1.16 or later.
- Cable VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type A (ref. Victron ASS030710018) from the CAN IN port on the master battery to the BMS-CAN port on the GX, with an RJ45 terminator. Do not use a standard network cable or a Type B cable.
- Master battery with DIP switch 4 set to OFF (500 kbit/s); slave batteries with all DIP switches set to OFF.
- On the GX: profile CAN-bus BMS (500 kbit/s) on the BMS-Can port. It will appear as “DYNESS-L Battery”.
- Active DVCC manually and leave SVS, STS and SCS disabled. The BMS sends the charge voltage (CVL 56.5 V) and current limits; the inverter stops at 15 % SOC.
- In ESS, select “System uses LiFePO4 with another type of BMS”.
How many PowerBox G2s do I need?
- 3–5 kVA inverter (MultiPlus-II 48/3000 or 48/5000): 1 battery It provides sufficient current.
- 8–10 kVA inverter (Quattro 48/8000 or 48/10000): we recommend at least 2 batteries.
- Three-phase with 3 x 5 kVA inverters: we recommend at least 3 batteries.
FV Componentes’ recommendation based on the discharge current of each module. We’ll calculate the right size for your battery bank free of charge if you tell us your consumption.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Dyness PowerBox G2
Can the Dyness PowerBox G2 be installed outdoors?
Yes. It has an IP65 rating for protection against water and dust. Even so, it’s best to keep it out of direct sunlight all day to extend its lifespan.
Does the PowerBox G2 charge at sub-zero temperatures?
With the optional self-heating function, yes: it heats itself from -20 °C and starts charging. Without that function, it charges from 0 °C. It discharges in any case between -20 °C and 55 °C.
Is it compatible with Victron?
Yes, it appears on the official Victron list. It communicates with the GX via BMS-Can at 500 kbit/s using a Type A cable and is compatible with all MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, Quattro and 48 V RS models.
How much useful energy does it have?
9.73 kWh out of the rated 10.24 kWh (95 per cent discharge depth).
What is the difference between the PowerBox G2 and the DL5.0F?
The PowerBox G2 has twice the energy capacity (10.24 kWh), twice the current (200 A), an IP65 rating for outdoor use and built-in Wi-Fi. The DL5.0F is a 5.12 kWh indoor module that fits into a 19″ rack. For a home with a single wall-mounted battery, the PowerBox G2 is usually the best option.
How much does it weigh, and who installs it?
It weighs 99.7 kg, so wall mounting it requires two people and a suitable bracket. We recommend having it installed by a professional; if you’re in the Region of Murcia, our ICIDE installation service can do this for you.
What is the guarantee?
A 10-year manufacturer’s warranty, with technical support in Spanish from FV Componentes.
