ProJoy Electric manufactures safety devices for photovoltaic installations: rapid shutdown at module level, DC disconnect switches and specific DC-side protection devices. These devices ensure that the roof is free from dangerous voltage in the event of an emergency.

What is fast shutdown and why does it matter?
A photovoltaic system generates voltage as soon as there is light, even if the inverter is switched off. A string of panels can have 600 volts DC on the roof, and that voltage remains as long as the sun is shining.
The rapid shutdown device cuts off the power supply to each module or string, bringing the roof to a safe voltage within seconds. This is what enables firefighters to tackle a fire, and in several countries it is already compulsory in certain installations.

When you need it
On residential roofs where you want to be able to switch off the entire system from ground level, in industrial buildings, and in any installation where access to the roof is difficult. Also when required by the insurance company.
Although it may not be compulsory in your case, it is an inexpensive option given the risk it covers.

DC disconnectors
ProJoy also manufactures DC disconnectors for the DC switchboard, rated for the voltages and currents of a photovoltaic string. Remember that AC switchgear is not suitable for DC: without the waveform passing through zero, the arc does not extinguish in the same way.
Finish it off with surge protection and the fuses on the side with the panels.
