BYD Battery-Box is the range of lithium batteries for Solar energy storage in homes and industry. These are modular high-voltage and low-voltage systems that integrate with hybrid and off-grid inverters, not electric vehicle batteries.
Please note: if you’ve come here looking for a traction battery for a BYD car — Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal — that’s not the product we offer. Here you’ll find BYD batteries for photovoltaic systems.
What is a BYD Battery-Box?
A modular system consisting of lithium-iron-phosphate modules that can be stacked to achieve the capacity you need, plus a control unit — the BCU — and a base. You can start with 5 kWh and expand to over 20 kWh by adding modules, without having to replace any of the existing components.
LFP chemistry is the same as that used in their vehicles: cobalt-free, highly thermally stable and with thousands of charge cycles.
High voltage or low voltage
Premium HVS and HVM: High-voltage series, ranging from 200 to 500 V. These are the ones required by hybrid self-consumption inverters from Huawei, Fronius, SMA or Solis. Higher conversion efficiency and low currents.
Premium LVS and LVL: 48 V low-voltage series, compatible with charger-inverters of the type Victron MultiPlus-II and Quattro. This is the option for stand-alone installation or if you already have a Victron system in place.
The decision is not about quality but about compatibility: choose the system architecture first and then the battery, because switching from one to the other part-way through a project means you’ll have to replace the inverter.
What else is required apart from the modules?
A Battery-Box requires its control unit (BCU), the base on which the modules are stacked and, depending on the configuration, additional connection components. We have them all in our catalogue — if you’re not sure which part numbers make up your system, just tell us which inverter and what capacity you want, and we’ll put together a full list for you.

Before you buy, check that it’s compatible with your inverter: this is the most costly mistake you can make when installing a storage system. Our technical equipment They’ll check it for free.
