Multifunctional
The new Victron Multiplus Inverter 24V 1600VA 40-16A has been designed to replace the previous MultiPlus Compact range. It brings together, in a single compact housing, a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger with variable charging technology and a high-speed AC transfer switch.
Parallel operation
Up to six Victron Multiplus Inverter 24V 1600VA 40-16A can be operated in parallel to achieve a higher power output. In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for three-phase output by assigning each inverter to one of the three phases.

Uninterruptible alternating current (UPS function)
In the event of a power failure, or disconnection of the shore power or generator, the inverter integrated in the Victron Multiplus 24V 1600VA 40-16A Inverter automatically activates and takes over the supply to power the connected loads. This happens so quickly (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment continue to operate without interruption.
Remote monitoring and control
When connected with a GX device (e.g. a Victron Cerbo GX MK2 Monitoring - BPP900451100) you can monitor and control the Victron Multiplus Inverter and your system(s) locally (LAN) or remotely over the Internet from anywhere in the world using the free VRM app and the free portal VRM. Proven reliability
The full-bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has proven its reliability over many years. The inverter is short-circuit proof and protected against overheating, whether due to overload or high ambient temperature.
PowerControl - Limited power from generator, shore power or mains power
In the Multi Control Panel a maximum current from the generator or the dock can be set. The Victron Multiplus Inverter 24V 1600VA 40-16A will take over other AC loads and use the excess current for charging, thus avoiding overloading the generator or the shore power.
PowerAssist - Increasing the electrical capacity of the shore power outlet or generator
When a power peak is required for a short period of time, as is often the case, the Victron Multiplus Inverter 24V 1600VA 40-16A will immediately compensate the possible lack of power from the grid current or generator with power from the battery. When the load is reduced, the excess power is used to recharge the battery.
Variable four-stage charger and charging of dual battery banks
The main output provides a powerful charge to the battery system via advanced "variable charge" software. The software fine-tunes the automatic three-stage process to suit battery conditions and adds a fourth stage for extended periods of float. In addition, the MultiPlus can charge a second battery using a separate limited charge output designed to charge a starter battery from the main engine or generator.
High starting power
Necessary for starting loads with high inrush current, such as converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or power tools.
Search mode
When the search mode is activated, the consumption of the inverter in no-load operation decreases by approximately 70%. In this mode the Victron Multiplus Inverter 24V 1600VA 40-16A, when operating in inverter mode, switches off if there is no load or very little load, and switches back on every two seconds for a short period of time. If the output current exceeds a preset level, the inverter will continue to operate. Otherwise, the inverter will shut down again.
Programmable relay
The programmable relay is by default configured as alarm relay, i.e. the relay will be de-energised in case of alarm or pre-alarm (inverter is too hot, input ripple is almost too high and battery voltage is too low).
