The Victron EM24 3 phase 65A Ethernet energy meter - REL200200100 is a standard device for measuring the power and energy of a three-phase application. The Victron EM24 energy meter with LCD display is designed for monitoring a three-phase installation, but can also be used in a single-phase installation (max. 65 A/phase).

Victron EM24 Energy Meter configuration options
The Victron EM24 3-Phase 65A Ethernet Energy Meter can be configured with four different functions in one GX device, such as the Victron Cerbo GX MK2 Monitoring - BPP900451100:
- As a network counter and control input to an ESS system.
- To measure the output of a PV inverter.
- To measure the output of an AC generator.
- As an AC meter to measure a specific AC load circuit.
Example three-phase wiring diagram
When used to measure a PV inverter, terminals 1, 4 and 7 must be in front of the PV inverter to ensure the correct direction of current and power.
Example single-phase wiring diagram
To measure a single-phase PV inverter in a three-phase system, connect all three phases to the grid phase terminals (3, 6 and 9). Now you have to choose on which phase you want to have the PV inverter, by connecting the L1 line of the PV inverter to terminal 1, 4 or 7.
Victron EM24 Energy Meter Ethernet Connection
The Ethernet mode is most advantageous in installations where an Ethernet network is available. Instead of running an RS485 cable between the main AC distribution panel and the storage system, the existing Ethernet can be used. The disadvantage is that this is dependent on the network functioning correctly; in case of problems, the storage system will go into standby mode.
EM24, EM3XX, EM5XX and ABB energy meters use vector registration to account for energy. This is the preferred method in countries such as Germany and Austria, and almost everywhere else. All other meters use the arithmetic register.
