Installation of the Victron Inverter 24v 5000w

Inverter location 24v 220v

• Avoid contact with water. Do not expose the inverter to rain or moisture.
• Installation should be in a dry and well-ventilated place.
• The victron 5000w 24v inverter must be placed on a flat surface.
• Install as close as possible to the batteries, but never directly over them.
  • The distance between the product and the battery should be as short as possible to minimise voltage loss in the cables.
• A space of at least 10 cm must be left around the appliance for cooling.
• If the victron 24v 5000w inverter gets too hot, it will shut down. When the inverter reaches a safe temperature level, the unit will automatically restart.
• Do not place the unit in direct sunlight. The ambient temperature should be between -20°C and 40°C (humidity < 95 % non-condensing).

Battery connection

Batteries with sufficient capacity and battery cables of adequate cross-section must be used. There is no safety fuse inside the inverter, so an external safety fuse must be installed.

• Recommended cable cross-section according to length:
  • 0-5 m: 1 x 90 mm² 0-5 m: 1 x 90 mm² 0-5 m: 1 x 90 mm² 0-5 m: 1 x 90 mm
  • 5-10 m: 2 x 95 mm² (2 x 95 mm²)
    • A cable must be sized to carry the rated current of the fuse without overheating.

Connect the battery cables as follows:

• Please note that a reverse polarity connection (+ to - and - to +) may damage the inverter.
• Connect the battery cables to the + (red) and - (black) poles of the battery.
• Tighten the battery connections securely, a maximum torque of 11 Nm is recommended.

Solar panel connection

• Note that reverse polarity connection of the solar panel cables may damage the inverter.
• Connect the solar panel wires to the positive (red) and negative (black) PV terminals.
• Secure PV connections tightly. A tight connection will reduce the contact resistance as much as possible.
