The Victron Shunt 6000A/50mV is a necessary component for current meters with an analogue or digital display, as these measurements are normally made at a very low voltage. The lower the measurement voltage at the switches, the lower the effects on the remaining circuit of the system.

Generally the resistance of a shunt is known precisely and is used to determine the intensity of electrical current flowing through this load by measuring the voltage difference across it.

The shunt of Victron is integrated in the line with the current to be measured. The small voltage that arises from this resistor is evaluated with a meter such as the Battery Monitor BMV-700 and displays values such as the current current flow.
