With the Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/70-MC4 Charge Controller you can enjoy a charging current up to 70 Amps and PV voltage up to 150 volts. The Victron BlueSolar 150/70 MPPT charge controller can charge a battery with a lower rated voltage from PV panels with a higher rated voltage of at least +5V. The BlueSolar controller will automatically adjust the nominal voltage of the battery to 12, 24V once connected to the controller.

Ultra-fast maximum power point tracking (MPPT)

Especially under cloudy skies, when light intensity changes continuously, an ultrafast MPPT controller will improve energy harvesting by up to 30 % compared to PWM charge controllers, and by up to 10 % compared to slower MPPT controllers.

Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of partial cloud cover

In cases of partial cloudiness, there may be two or more maximum power points (MPP) on the load voltage curve.
Conventional MPPTs tend to select a local MPP, which may not be the optimal MPP.
BlueSolar's innovative algorithm will always maximise energy harvesting by selecting the optimal MPP.

Flexible loading algorithm

Fully programmable charging algorithm, and eight pre-programmed algorithms, selectable by rotary selector (see manual for more information).

Extensive electronic protection

Over-temperature protection and power reduction in case of high temperature.
Short-circuit and reverse polarity protection on PV panels.
PV reverse current protection.

Internal temperature sensor

A Smart Battery Sense sensor or a BMV-712 Smart battery monitor can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature (and current, in case of a BMV-712 or SmartShunt) to one or more BlueSolar charge controllers. (A VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle is required).
