The housing of the Victron Centaur 24/16 (3) - CCH024016000 Charger is an epoxy powder coated aluminium enclosure with drip shield and stainless steel fasteners to withstand the harsh conditions of an adverse environment: heat, humidity and salt air. Circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Temperature sensors ensure that the power components will always operate within specified limits, if necessary, by automatically reducing the output current in extreme environmental conditions.
All models will operate without adjustment over an input voltage range of 90 to 265 volts at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The chargers also accept a DC supply of 90-400 V.
Three isolated outputs to simultaneously charge 3 battery banks. Each output is capable of supplying the full rated current.
The Centaur bulk charges until the output has been reduced to 70% of rated amps, at which time a 4-hour timer begins. After the timed period, the charger switches to float speed. An internal temperature sensor is used to compensate the charge voltage by -2 mV/°C (-1 mV/°F) per cell. A DIP switch is available to select the optimum charge/float voltages for flooded lead acid, gel or AGM batteries.
