Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially under cloudy skies, when light intensity changes continuously, an ultrafast MPPT controller will improve energy harvesting by up to 30 % compared to PWM charge controllers, and by up to 10 % compared to slower MPPT controllers.

Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of partial cloud cover
In case of partial cloud cover, two or more maximum power points (MPPs) may occur on the load voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs usually select a local MPP, which is not necessarily the optimal MPP. SmartSolar's innovative algorithm will always maximise energy harvesting by selecting the optimal MPP.

Flexible loading algorithm
One fully programmable charging algorithm and eight pre-programmed charging algorithms, which can be selected with a rotary selector (see manual for more information).

Over-temperature protection and power reduction in case of high temperature. Short-circuit and reverse polarity protection on PV panels. PV reverse current protection.

Integrated Bluetooth Smart
The wireless solution for configuring, monitoring, updating and synchronising SmartSolar charge controllers.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external sensor for battery voltage, temperature and current via Bluetooth
A Smart Battery Sense sensor, BMV-712 Smart battery monitor or SmartShunt can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature (and current, in the case of a BMV-712 or SmartShunt) to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.

Fully discharged battery recovery function
Will start charging even if the battery is discharged to zero volts. Will reconnect to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with internal disconnect function.

VE.Can: the multi-controller solution
Up to 25 units can be synchronised with VE.Can and up to 10 units with Bluetooth.

VE.Direct or VE.Can
For a wired data connection to a Color Control GX panel, other GX products, a PC or other devices.

Remote On/Off
To connect to a VE.BUS BMS, for example.

Programmable relay
It can be programmed to schedule an alarm, or other events.

Optional: SmartSolar connectable LCD screen
Simply remove the rubber protector from the plug on the front of the controller and connect the display.
