The Maxge EPBOV2SC32 combined protector combines, in a single pre-wired 54 mm unit, the 32 A main circuit breaker (MCB) and the dual surge protection required by the REBT at the installation’s main distribution board: permanent overvoltages (ITC-BT-23 / EN 50550) and transient overvoltages with a type 2 surge arrester.

Permanent surge protection switches off the installation when the voltage exceeds 280 V for a prolonged period, typically due to a neutral break in the mains supply. The transient arrester diverts short-duration spikes caused by lightning strikes or switching operations on the mains to earth, protecting household appliances, electronic equipment, inverters and chargers.

As everything comes fully integrated and pre-wired from the factory, it saves space in the switchboard and reduces installation time compared with fitting an IGA, a permanent protection device and a surge arrester separately.
