Electrical cables

The power cable is one of the most critical - and most underestimated - components of a photovoltaic installation. A solar cable with insufficient cross-section generates heat, voltage losses and fire risk. A poorly dimensioned battery cable can cause voltage drops that directly affect the inverter's performance.

Solar photovoltaic cable H1Z2Z2-K (4mm² and 6mm²): double insulation, UV resistant, approved for outdoor photovoltaic installations according to EN 50618. Available in red and black. The 6mm² is the standard for runs between panels and regulator up to 10-15 metres; the 4mm² for short distances or low current.
Custom-made battery cable (10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 70 and 95mm²): for connection between battery and inverter. High purity flexible copper conductor with double layer PVC insulation. Supplied by the metre in red and black. The correct cross-section depends on maximum current and run length - a 5,000VA Victron inverter at 48V may require 50-70mm² on long runs; higher power installations may require 95mm².
MEGA cable + fuse kits: Pre-assembled battery cable packs (35mm² and 50mm²) with MEGA fuse included for line protection. The most convenient option for standard installations.
MC4 connectors: for watertight connection between solar panels in series or parallel. Compatible with 4 and 6mm² cable.
