Screw terminals
Battery cable screw terminals are the connectors that join the power cable to the inverter terminal, busbar or fuse holder in a solar installation. A poorly terminated connection generates contact resistance, localised heat and voltage losses that degrade system performance and can cause failure of the inverter or the wiring itself. Compared to crimp terminals -which require a hydraulic press-, screw terminals can be installed with basic tools, are removable and allow the state of the connection to be checked during any maintenance.
At FVComponentes.com we have two types of copper terminals for battery and inverter, according to the standard NF-C20-130:
T-type terminal (open body): flat plate with single fixing hole. Compact body for confined spaces. The conductor is clamped by means of a lateral screw which directly compresses the cable wires.
Terminal type TT (closed tubular body): Closed barrel that completely encloses the conductor. Larger contact surface, lower resistance and better vibration behaviour. The recommended option for high current installations with lithium batteries and Victron inverters.
Full range available: 10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 50, 70 and 95mm²., with threads M6, M8 and M10 according to section. Material: tinned electrolytic copper. Compatible with custom-made battery cables (10 to 95mm²) and with Victron MultiPlus and Quattro inverter terminals. Supplied individually in red and black for polarity identification.
