The new HV Lithium Batteries BYD Battery Box Premium HVM+ is the direct evolution of the successful HVM series. This new battery offers higher capacity, more power and extended compatibility with the main inverters on the market.

The HV BYD Premium HVM+ 8.3 kWh lithium-ion battery is part of BYD's new HVM+ family of high-voltage batteries, designed to offer higher capacity per module, industrial robustness and easy integration in self-consumption and backup installations that require more autonomy than the HVS+ series.

Thanks to its modular, stackable architecture, the Battery-Box Premium HVM+ 8.3 kWh allows for fast, safe and scalable installation, adapting to the needs of any residential or industrial PV system.

The BCU's integrated Battery Management System (BMS) manages the power flow in real time: it balances the cells, monitors temperature, voltage and state of charge, and protects against overcharging, over-discharging or short circuits. This approach enables reliable, safe performance and a long service life.

Modular and scalable design

The HVM+ series allows 3 to 8 modules to be stacked vertically on a BCU+Base, without internal wiring, which facilitates future expansion without replacing the base unit. The 8.3 kWh model consists of 3 HVM+ modules (2.76 kWh each).

The modules use lithium-ferrophosphate (LiFePO₄, LFP) technology, a cobalt-free chemistry, which provides high thermal stability, good longevity, low degradation with cycling, structural safety, increased safety against overheating and adverse thermal reactions.

The Battery-Box Premium HVM+ 8.3 kWh is part of BYD's new generation of high-voltage batteries, and is exclusively compatible with the HVM+ series and the new generation BCU+Base unit.

Battery-Box Premium HVM+: Stackable from 3 to 8 modules (8.28 - 22.08 usable kWh).

HVM+ modules are not compatible with previous standard HVM versions, so they cannot be combined with modules or BCUs from previous versions. They cannot be mixed in the same tower or put new towers in parallel with towers of modules from previous versions.

Recommended installation of a high-voltage lithium battery

  • Location: dry indoors, on a stable surface, away from moisture or heat.
  • Assembly: the BCU+Base is installed first; the modules are stacked on top vertically with plug & play connection, without internal cables. They are snapped together using the integrated connectors.
  • Connection: power and communication cables are connected directly from the BCU via CAN / RS485 protocols to the inverter, without additional wiring between modules.
  • Commissioning: This is done from the compatible inverter interface, which automatically detects the battery and configures the system according to the parameters of the BMS (Battery Management System).
  • Compatibility: Exclusively with new generation BYD Premium HVS+ and BCU+Base systems.
