Battery charger accessories

Charger accessories complete the installation of a battery charger: temperature sensors, remote control panels, connection cables and mounting fittings. These small parts determine whether charging is carried out correctly or haphazardly.

Why do I need a temperature sensor in the charger?

Because the correct charging voltage depends on the battery’s temperature. In hot weather, it must be lowered, otherwise the battery will gas and lose electrolyte; in cold weather, it must be raised, otherwise it will never charge fully.

Without a temperature sensor, the charger applies the 25 °C voltage all year round. In a garage in south-eastern Spain, in August, this means overcharging the battery every day. It is the accessory that costs the least but has the greatest impact on the battery bank’s service life.

What is a remote control panel used for?

To view and adjust the charger without physically accessing it, as it is usually located in a loft, under a seat or in a plant room. It displays the charging status, the active stage and any alarms, and allows you to change the profile without dismantling anything.
