Integrated Bluetooth connectivity

The Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor is ready for the era of the Internet of Things, as it incorporates Bluetooth as standard. This enables wireless communication with smartphones and other compatible Victron products, facilitating installation and optimising system performance.

Easy to install

All electrical connections are made to the power shunt's quick-connect PCB. The shunt is connected to the monitor via a standard RJ12 telephone cable, which is included in the equipment box. A fused battery cable (2m) is also included. No further installation is required.
Also included is a front screen trim plate, square or round, a rear fixing ring and screws for front mounting.

Midpoint tension control

The mid-point voltage is the voltage measured at exactly the middle of a string of batteries connected in series.
Monitoring this value is of great interest in large battery banks, but usually involves high costs. However, with the black Victron BMV-712 Smart battery monitor, it is possible to monitor this parameter easily and much more economically.
Detecting critical deviations in mid-point voltage in series-connected battery strings and taking corrective action accordingly helps prevent serious damage, prolonging system life and reliability.

Low consumption

Power consumption: 0.7Ah per month (1mA) @ 12V and 0.6Ah per month (0.8mA) @ 24V
Lithium batteries have almost no useful capacity after disconnection due to low voltage. They only retain a small reserve (≈ 1Ah per 100Ah). If this reserve is depleted, the battery can be irreversibly damaged.
A residual consumption of just 10 mA can ruin a 200 Ah battery in as little as 8 days if it remains discharged.

Bistable alarm relay

Prevents the current drain from increasing in the event of an alarm.
