Monocrystalline panels

The monocrystalline silicon cells of the Victron BlueSolar 215W-24V Monocrystalline Solar Panel series 4b are manufactured from Ingots (cylindrical silicon blocks). All four sides of the cylinder are cut and made into sheets with rounded edges. The crystals have a high purity and therefore the efficiency of the cells is increased. The plates of this material are usually darker, mostly black in colour.

Monocrystalline solar panels are capable of producing considerably more energy in less space, making them more efficient. For this reason they are a choice to consider in the case of having a small surface area for the installation of the panels. By producing more energy per smaller surface area, greater savings can be achieved than with polycrystalline panels.
