Product information

The Victron SmallBMS with Pre-Alarm - BMS400100000 is an all-in-one battery management system (BMS) for batteries. Lithium Battery Smart from Victron Energy. These are lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries available in 12.8 V or 25.6 V and in different capacities. They can be connected in series, parallel and series/parallel, so that a battery bank can be assembled for 12 V, 24 V or 48 V system voltages. The maximum number of batteries in a system is 20, which means a maximum energy storage of 84 kWh in a 12 V system and up to 102 kWh in a 24 V system1) and 48 V.1).

The smallBMS is a simple and cost-effective alternative to the VE.Bus BMS, but it does not have a VE.Bus interface and is therefore not suitable for use with VE.Bus MultiPlus and Quattro inverter/chargers.

Features of the Victron SmallBMS with pre-alarm - BMS400100000:

Load disconnect output

Load output is normally high and becomes floating in case of cell undervoltage (default 2.8V/cell, adjustable at the battery between 2.6V and 2.8V per cell). Maximum current: 1A. The load output is not protected against short circuits.
The load output can be used to control:
- A high current relay or contactor.
- Remote on/off input from a Battery Protect, inverter or DC-DC converter or other loads (a non-inverter or inverter on/off cable may be required, see detailed manual on our website).

Pre-alarm output

Pre-alarm output is normally free-floating and goes high in case of imminent cell undervoltage (default 3.1V/cell, adjustable at the battery between 2.85V and 3.15V per cell). Maximum current: 1A (without short-circuit protection).
The minimum delay between pre-alarm and load disconnection is 30 seconds.

Load disconnect output

Charger output is normally high and becomes free-floating in case of imminent cell overvoltage or overtemperature. Maximum current: 10mA.
The charger output is not suitable for supplying an inductive load such as a relay coil.
The charger output can be used to control:
- Remote on/off switching of a charger
- One Cyrix-Li-Charge relay
- One Cyrix-Li-ct battery combiner

System on/off input

The system's on/off input controls both outputs. When it is off, both outputs are free so that loads and chargers are switched off.
The on/off input to the system consists of two terminals: Remote L and Remote H.
Between L and H a remote on/off switch or a relay contact can be connected.
Alternatively, the H terminal can be switched to battery plus, or the L terminal can be switched to battery minus.

Protects 12V, 24V and 48V systems

Operating voltage range: 8 to 70 V DC.

LED indicators

Charge ON (blue): High charge output (cell voltage >2.8V, adjustable at the battery).
Temp or SBT (red): Free-floating charger output (due to too high (>50°C) or too low cell temperature (<5°C) or cell overvoltage).

Delivery deadlines

At FVComponents.com we have stock of the references with the highest turnover, however our catalogue is so wide and economical because we work with many of the references on request. This means that the usual delivery time of 2-4 working days can be extended to 1-2 weeks + subsequent shipment by us. Thanks to this, we can offer very competitive and attractive prices to our customers that are difficult to match. If you wish, you can write to us via the chat on the website, call us at 968 97 83 01 or write to us at [email protected] to check if we have stock or the delivery time of the component you wish to purchase before finalising your order.
