BYD, a leading manufacturer of batteries and electric mobility solutions, is once again updating its high-voltage batteries. The new HV Lithium Batteries BYD Battery Box Premium HVM+ is the direct evolution of the successful HVM series. This new battery offers higher capacity, more power and extended compatibility with the main inverters on the market.

The HV BYD Premium HVM+ 2.76 lithium battery module - 18487580-00 is part of BYD's new HVM+ family of high-voltage batteries, designed to offer higher capacity per module, industrial robustness and easy integration in self-consumption and backup installations that require more autonomy than the HVS+ series.

Each module represents an independent energy block of 2.76 kWh useful energy, designed to form stackable towers on the BCU+Base and create systems from compact configurations (8.3 kWh) to high energy capacity solutions (22.1kWh).

Modular and scalable design

The HVM+ system is vertically stackable on the BCU+Base without internal cabling.
It allows towers from 3 to 8 modules to be assembled, facilitating compact initial configurations and later extensions without changing the base.

Efficient storage

Each HVM+ module incorporates LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) cells: a chemistry known for its thermal stability, low degradation with cycling and increased safety against overheating and adverse thermal reactions.

Maximum safety and reliability

The HVM+ module complies with international safety and transport standards: UN38.3, IEC 62619 and CE marking.
Its housing and mounting are designed to minimise the risk of accidental contact and to protect against impact and adverse conditions.
In addition, its LFP technology enables longer life cycles and reliable operation in residential and commercial applications.

Compatibility between BYD battery systems

The BYD HVM+ 2.76 module is exclusively compatible with the HVM+ series and the new generation BCU+Base unit. Stackable from 3 to 8 modules (8.3 - 22.1 usable kWh).
The new HVM+ modules are not compatible with the old ones, so they cannot be combined with modules or BCUs from previous versions. They cannot be mixed in the same tower or put new towers in parallel with towers of modules from previous versions.

Compatibility with inverters

BYD batteries guarantee technical consistency and full compatibility with the latest inverters on the market, such as Fronius, GoodWe, SMA, Kostal, Victron, Huawei or Solis.

Recommended installation of a high-voltage lithium battery

LocationDry, stable and ventilated interior; avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.
Assembly: first install the BCU+Base, check levelling and fixing; stack the HVM+ modules in the order indicated by the manufacturer until the desired number is reached.
Connections: connect power and communication signals from the BCU to the approved inverter (CAN / RS485). No wiring between modules is required.
Commissioning: detection and parameterisation is done from the interface of the compatible inverter, which communicates with the BCU to set BMS parameters and operating modes (self-consumption, backup, load priority, etc.).
