The BMV-702 is a high-precision battery monitor.. Its main function is to calculate the ampere hours consumed and the state of charge of the batteries. The BMV-700 series displays voltage, current and ampere-hours consumed, the state of charge, the remaining autonomy and the power consumed.

The remaining battery capacity depends on the ampere-hours consumed, the discharge current, the temperature and the age of the battery. Software with complex algorithms is needed to take all these variables into account.
In addition to the basic display options, such as voltage, current and ampere-hours consumed, the Victron BMV-700 Battery Monitor also shows the state of charge, remaining autonomy and power consumed in watts.
It uses the Bluetooth Smart interface to control batteries from Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, macbooks and other devices.
All electrical connections are made to the power shunt's quick connect PCB. The shunt is connected to the monitor via a standard RJ12 telephone cable.
Included: RJ 12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m); no more required.
Also included is a front screen trim plate, square or round, a rear fixing ring and screws for front mounting.
As a user, you have a quick installation menu, and a more detailed menu with sliding texts, to make the various settings.
Alternatively, you can opt for the quick and easy solution: download the smartphone app (you need the Bluetooth Smart Interface)
This function is generally used to monitor large battery banks at a high cost. With the Victron BMV-702 Battery Monitor we can monitor this parameter for a much lower cost. A battery bank consists of a string of cells connected in series. The midpoint tension is the tension obtained in the middle of this chain. Ideally, the mid-point voltage would be exactly half of the total voltage. However, in practice, deviations will be seen depending on many factors, such as the different state of charge of new batteries or cells, their different temperatures, internal leakage currents, capacities and much more.
Significant or increasing deviations from the mid-point voltage indicate improper maintenance or failure of a battery or cell. Corrective action taken after a mid-point voltage alarm can prevent possible damage to a battery.
