Mastervolt supplies three automatic switching systems for capacities of 6, 9 and 13 kW which - in combination with an IVET transformer - match the ground current with the on-board system. As a result, a 230V/50Hz system can easily be operated with an American or Caribbean ground connection. Make sure that the on-board frequency (50 or 60 Hz) is the same as the frequency of the ground current.

Soft Mastervolt Start 22 kVA - 55003400 is designed to reduce the inrush current of an isolation transformer between 13 and 22kW. When inductive loads such as a transformer or electric motors are connected, the inrush current can be up to 10 times higher than the rated current. A soft start is often necessary to ensure that the grounding fuse does not blow when a ground connection is made. The inrush current is usually too high for most normal fused grounding connections. The Soft Mastervolt Start 22 kVA - 55003400 reduces the inrush current to an acceptable value.

The automatic Soft Start switch prevents excessive inrush current in the transformer to prevent the power fuse from blowing.
