Victron Energy Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/85 Tr controller

With the Victron SmartSolar 150/85-Tr MPPT controller you can enjoy a charging current up to 70 Amps and PV voltage up to 250 volts. The Victron SmartSolar150/85-Tr MPPT charge controller can charge a lower nominal voltage battery from a higher nominal voltage PV panels of at least +5V. The SmartSolar controller will automatically adjust the nominal voltage of the battery to 12, 24, 36, or 48 V once connected to the controller.

Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially under cloudy skies, when light intensity changes continuously, an ultrafast MPPT controller will improve energy harvesting by up to 30 % compared to PWM charge controllers, and by up to 10 % compared to slower MPPT controllers.

Advanced detection of Maximum Power Point in case of partial cloudiness
In case of partial cloudiness, there may be two or more maximum power points (MPP) on the load voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs typically select a local MPP, which is not necessarily the optimal MPP. SmartSolar's innovative algorithm will always maximize energy harvesting by selecting the optimal MPP.

Exceptional conversion efficiency
No fan. Maximum efficiency exceeds 98 %.

Flexible loading algorithm
A fully programmable charging algorithm and eight pre-programmed charging algorithms, which can be selected with a rotary selector (see manual for more information).

Extensive electronic protection
Over temperature protection and power reduction in case of high temperature. Short-circuit and reverse polarity protection in PV panels. PV reverse current protection.

Integrated Bluetooth Smart
The wireless solution for configuring, monitoring, updating and synchronizing SmartSolar charge controllers.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external sensor for battery voltage, temperature and current via Bluetooth
A Smart Battery Sense sensor, BMV-712 Smart battery monitor or SmartShunt can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature (and current, in the case of a BMV-712 or SmartShunt) to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.

Recovery function for completely discharged batteries
Will start charging even if the battery is discharged to zero volts. Will reconnect to a fully discharged lithium ion battery with internal disconnect function.

VE.Can: the multi-controller solution
Up to 25 units can be synchronized with VE.Can and up to 10 units with Bluetooth.

VE.Direct or VE.Can
For a wired data connection to a Color Control GX panel, other GX products, a PC or other devices.

Remote On/Off
To connect to a VE.BUS BMS, for example.
