MG SmartLink Connect battery controller - MG2000112

The MG SmartLink Connect Battery Controller - MG2000112 SmartLink is MG's external battery management system for SmartConnect batteries. It is the central unit that controls all connected components. This includes third-party chargers, MG power monitors and inverters. In addition, it monitors and tracks all parameters to provide information on daily status and power consumption. It collects and combines all communication and battery data in the MG battery system. All data is transmitted via CAN-Bus to make it available to third-party devices. SmartLink Connect detects system status, including warnings and errors, and intervenes when necessary.

Compatibility

What makes SmartConnect unique is that it works with any charger, inverter and combi on the market. The wide range of compatibility makes this battery the ultimate battery for system integration in new construction and all your retrofit projects. You can choose to integrate SmartConnect batteries in two ways: analog and digital.

Analog

Provided that the charger and inverter can be enabled and disabled remotely, it is possible to control them with the Allow Charge (ATC) and Allow Discharge (ATD) contacts. To do so, easily use the Allow Charge contact for the charger and the Allow Discharge contact for the inverter. These two contacts (ATC and ATD) will automatically switch the charger and/or inverter on and off.

Digital

A slightly more sophisticated way is to digitally control the charger and inverter (or combi). DVCC support is a good example of how the CAN bus is integrated via the NMEA2000 protocol. Digital control is often not necessary for simple installations, for which analog control is sufficient.
