TAB 24V stationary battery – 12x OPzS 200 2V/200Ah

The TAB 24V – 12x OPzS 200 2V/200 stationary battery pack forms a 24V, 215Ah stationary battery bank in C10 using 12 OPzS 2V cells in series, with flooded tubular plates for deep cycling. It is the standard configuration in off-grid photovoltaics when maximum service life and low cost per kWh are required, accepting basic maintenance.

Charging recommendations for 24V OPzS stationary batteries

The service life of OPzS batteries depends on the depth of discharge. For discharges with a depth of 60%, the estimated service life of these batteries would be 1,500 cycles.

• Recommended charging voltages (per cell):
  • Flotation/maintenance: ≈ 2.23–2.25 V/cell (this applies to float charging between 10–30 °C, with temperature correction). 26.8–27.0 V the pack
  • Boost charging / fast recharging: ≈ 2.35–2.40 V/cell (limited time; typically 3–5 hours once this voltage is reached). 28.2–28.8 V the pack
• Depth of discharge: Normally up to 80 %. Discharges exceeding 80 % of DOD or discharges beyond the final discharge voltages should be avoided.

Installation and safety

• Mandatory ventilation in passenger compartment/bench (gas emissions).
• Regular monitoring electrolyte level and density.
• Handling with PPE (gloves, goggles) due to the presence of acid.
