The SMA Sunny Home Manager 2.0 - HM-20 is designed to maximise the efficient use of solar energy in the home. This device optimises PV self-consumption and significantly reduces electricity costs. To achieve this, it measures solar energy production, purchased electricity and grid feed-in, providing an overview of all relevant energy flows in the home.

Using local solar generation forecasts and the household's consumption profile, this self-learning device provides recommendations to the user to optimise energy use. It coordinates the operation of controlled appliances to make the most of the solar energy generated by the system.
