Maxge Alpha+ 4P differential, 40A, 300mA. Class A superimmunised. 10kA - EPR4A040300
The Maxge Alpha+ 4P, 40A, 300mA is a high capacity and reliable earth leakage circuit breaker, designed to automatically disconnect the installation when it detects earth leakage currents (shunts) that may cause fire hazards or damage to electrical equipment.
This is a 4-pole (4P) differential, so it is designed for three-phase networks with neutral (3 phases + N).
In this way, it provides complete surveillance of all active drivers.
As part of Maxge's Alpha+ range, it is aimed at providing greater reliability and stability in modern installations.
It is ideal for applications in residential, commercial, tertiary and industrial installations where enhanced protection of the overall electrical system is required.
Maxge Alpha+ 4P, 40A, 300mA Differential Characteristics
Configuration and electrical capacity
This differential is designed with a 4-pole configuration, which allows all active lines and the neutral to be monitored simultaneously.
This ensures complete detection of any earth leakage current that may occur in the installation.
The differential works with a 40 ampere rated current, This makes it suitable for main power lines or sub-panels where a large electrical load is concentrated.
This rated current determines the maximum that the circuit breaker can withstand continuously without tripping due to overload, provided there is no earth leakage.
Your sensitivity of 300 milliamps (mA) is designed to protect the installation against larger current leakages.
These may not pose an immediate risk to people (as does a 30 mA differential). However, they do pose a significant risk to the overall electrical installation, especially in terms of electrical fires.
300 mA residual-current devices are often used as general protection for the switchboard. In addition, they complement the 30 mA differentials that protect people directly.
Protection and technology
The Maxge Alpha+ 4P, 40A, 300mA differential is from Class A, The Class A differential is capable of detecting both residual alternating current (AC) and pulsating current with a direct current component (pulsating DC). A Class A residual current device can identify more complex leakages than a basic Class AC residual current device.
This therefore improves safety and ensures effective protection in existing installations.
It is also useful where equipment with integrated electronics or non-linear loads are used. These include modern household appliances, computers, LED lighting, chargers, air conditioning systems, variable frequency drives and switch-mode power supplies.
The super-immunised technology incorporated in the Alpha+ range makes this differential less sensitive to false tripping caused by transient disturbances in the mains, such as voltage spikes, electrical noise or momentary interference.
This translates into greater stability and reliability for installations with sensitive equipment or where electrical disturbances are frequent, avoiding unnecessary interruptions.
Short-circuit robustness
With a 10 kA breaking capacity, The residual current device can interrupt fault currents of up to 10,000 amperes without damage or loss of protection. This is crucial in installations with a high short-circuit probability.
Thus, it provides greater robustness, safety and reliability and provides correct coordination with the magneto-thermal protections of the electrical panel.
Installation
This differential is designed to standard DIN rail mounting, This makes it easy to integrate them neatly and safely into modular electrical panels together with other protection elements (circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, etc.), while maintaining a clean and professional design.
Maxge Alpha+ 4P, 40A, 300mA Maxge Alpha+ 4P, 40A, 300mA differential operation
This differential has the following inner workings:
- Constant monitoring: The differential compares in real time the sum of the currents entering through the phases and leaving through the neutral.
- Detection of imbalances: If there is a difference of more than 300 mA, the differential interprets that there is a significant current leakage.
- Automatic switch-off: The differential disconnects the circuit within milliseconds to avoid the risk of damage or fire.
It is an ideal choice for environments where safety and continuity of service are a priority. For example, it is recommended for homes with a high level of electrification, commercial premises, offices and small industrial installations.
