Differential Switches

Residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs) are one of the most important safety elements in any electrical installation. Their function is to protect people against indirect electrical contact by detecting current leakage to earth and disconnecting the circuit immediately when a dangerous threshold is exceeded.

In this category you will find differentials for residential, commercial and industrial installations, with different sensitivities (mA), types (AC, A, A, F, B) and intensities, adapted to the needs of modern electrical panels and especially recommended in installations with sensitive electronics, such as photovoltaic, electric vehicle chargers or equipment with variators.

Why is a differential essential?

  • Reduces the risk of electric shock and accidents.
  • Disconnects in the event of shunts or earth leakage.
  • Increases the safety of the switchgear and the installation.
  • It is compulsory in most installations according to regulations.

How to choose the right differential?

To select the correct one, check:

  • Sensitivity (mA): the norm in housing is 30 mA (protection of persons).
  • Rated current (A): must withstand the load of the circuit or switchboard.
  • Type of differential:
    • AC: traditional loads (increasingly undesirable).
    • A: recommended for most modern equipment (electronics, switch-mode power supplies, household appliances).
    • F / B: for special equipment (inverters, EVs, specific inverters, etc.).
  • Number of poles: single-phase or three-phase.

Choosing the wrong differential can lead to constant jumping (annoying and useless) or, worse, failure to detect leaks properly when it really matters.
