Victron Shunt 1000A/50mV
The Victron Shunt 1000A/50mV is a necessary component for current meters with an analog or digital display, as these measurements are normally made at a very small voltage.
Generally the resistance of a shunt is accurately known and is used to determine the intensity of electric current flowing through this load by measuring the voltage difference across it.
The lower the measuring voltage at the switches, the lower the effects on the remaining circuit of the system.
The shunt of the Victron is integrated in the line with the current to be measured. The small voltage that arises from this resistor is evaluated with a meter such as the BMV-700 Battery Monitor and displays values such as the current flow.
To find out if you need a shunt for your display device, please refer to the instructions for the corresponding device.
