L'isolateur galvanique emp\u00eache la corrosion \u00e9lectrolytique. Il bloque les courants continus basse tension qui p\u00e9n\u00e8trent dans le bateau par le c\u00e2ble de la prise de quai. Ces courants peuvent provoquer la corrosion des pi\u00e8ces m\u00e9talliques situ\u00e9es sous la ligne de flottaison, telles que la coque, l'h\u00e9lice et l'arbre d'h\u00e9lice, entre autres.
\nL'isolateur galvanique contient deux diodes connect\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re antiparall\u00e8le. Lorsqu'elles sont connect\u00e9es de cette mani\u00e8re, les diodes laissent passer le courant dans les deux sens, mais seulement au-del\u00e0 d'un certain seuil de tension. La tension \u00e0 laquelle les diodes sont conductrices est d'environ 1,4 Vcc.<\/p>\n

L'isolateur est install\u00e9 directement derri\u00e8re la connexion 230V de votre bateau. La tension continue provenant de l'isolateur galvanique est sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence de potentiel entre les m\u00e9taux. Par cons\u00e9quent, cette tension ne permet pas la conduction et, de ce fait, l'isolateur galvanique emp\u00eache tout courant \u00e9lectrolytique. Cependant, s'il y a une tension erron\u00e9e plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e dans le circuit CA, les diodes laisseront passer le courant et le dispositif \u00e0 courant r\u00e9siduel interrompra le circuit.<\/p>\n
