But the three outputs combined can never exceed the rated current of the charger.<\/p>\n<h2>Automatic voltage compensation<\/h2>\n<p>The Victron Phoenix Smart IP43 12\/30 (1+1) 120-240V charger compensates for the voltage drop of DC cables by gradually increasing the output voltage as the DC current increases. Please refer to the manual for more information.<\/p>\n<h2>6-stage adaptive charging algorithm: initial charging - absorption - reconditioning - floating - storage - refreshing<\/h2>\n<p>The Phoenix Smart Charger features our well known \"adaptive\" battery management system that can be configured for different battery types. Its \"adaptive\" function will automatically optimise the charging process according to the usage of the battery.<\/p>\n<h2>The right amount of load: adaptive absorption time<\/h2>\n<p>When the discharge is low (e.g. a yacht connected to the pontoon) the absorption charging phase is shortened to avoid overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption charge time is automatically increased to ensure a full recharge of the battery.<\/p>\n<h2>Preventing damage due to over-gassing: BatterySafe mode<\/h2>\n<p>If, in order to charge a battery quickly, a combination of high charging current and high absorption voltage has been chosen, the charger will prevent damage from over-gassing by automatically limiting the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage has been reached.<\/p>\n<h2>Reduced ageing and need for maintenance when the battery is not in use: storage mode.<\/h2>\n<p>The storage mode is activated when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V\/cell (13.2 V for 12 V batteries) to minimise gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is brought back up to the absorption level to \"equalise\" the<br \/>\nbattery. This function prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the main causes of battery failure.<\/p>\n<h2>also charges lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO\u2084)<\/h2>\n<p>Simple on\/off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or optocoupler with open collector output from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote on\/off port. Three pre-programmed charging algorithms can be selected with the mode button (see specifications).<\/p>\n<h2>Optional external battery voltage and temperature sensor via Bluetooth<\/h2>\n<p>A Smart Battery Sense sensor or BMV-712 Smart battery monitor can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature to one or more Phoenix Smart IP43 chargers.<\/p>\n<h2>Remote On\/Off<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The remote on\/off consists of two terminals: H remote and L remote.<\/li>\n<li>A remote on\/off switch or relay contact between H and L can be connected.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, the H terminal can be set to a higher level or the L terminal can be set to a lower level.<br \/>\n<em>See manual for details.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>VE.Direct interface<\/h2>\n<p>For a wired data connection to a GX device, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/fvcomponentes.com\/en\/product\/monitoring-victron-cerbo-gx-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victron Cerbo GX MK2 Monitoring - BPP900451100<\/a>to a PC or other devices.
