Its service life will even be improved if it is partially, rather than fully, charged. This is a decisive advantage of lithium-ion batteries over lead-acid batteries.<\/p>\n<p>SuperPack batteries from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victron<\/a> shall cut off the charging or discharging current when the maximum rated capacity is exceeded.<\/p>\n<h3>Efficient<\/h3>\n<p>In some applications (especially off-grid applications), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance.<br \/>\nThe full cycle energy efficiency (discharge from 100 % to 0 % and recharge back to 100 %) of a typical lead-acid battery is 80 %.<br \/>\nThe full cycle efficiency of a lithium-ion battery is 92 %.<\/p>\n<p>The charging process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when the 80 % state of charge is reached, resulting in efficiencies of 50 % or even lower in solar systems where several days of energy reserves are needed (batteries operating between 70 % and 100 % of charge).<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, a lithium-ion battery will still achieve an efficiency of 90 % under mild discharge conditions.<\/p>\n<h3>Can be connected in parallel<\/h3>\n<p>Batteries can be connected in parallel.
