Integrated BMS and safety switch<\/h2>\n

SuperPack series batteries, such as the Victron SuperPack 12.8V-20Ah lithium battery, are very easy to install and require no additional components.
\nThe internal switch will disconnect the battery in case of excessive discharge, overcharge or too low or too high temperature.<\/p>\n

Abuse-proof<\/h3>\n

A lead-acid battery will fail prematurely due to sulphation:
\n- if it operates in deficit mode for long periods of time (i.e. if the battery is rarely or never fully charged).
\n- if left partially discharged or, even worse, completely discharged.<\/p>\n

A lithium-ion battery does not need to be fully charged. Its service life will even be improved if it is partially, rather than fully, charged. This is a decisive advantage of lithium-ion batteries over lead-acid batteries.<\/p>\n

SuperPack batteries from Victron<\/a> shall cut off the charging or discharging current when the maximum rated capacity is exceeded.<\/p>\n

Efficient<\/h3>\n

In some applications (especially off-grid applications), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance.
\nThe full cycle energy efficiency (discharge from 100 % to 0 % and recharge back to 100 %) of a typical lead-acid battery is 80 %.
\nThe full cycle efficiency of a lithium-ion battery is 92 %.<\/p>\n

The charging process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when the 80 % state of charge is reached, resulting in efficiencies of 50 % or even lower in solar systems where several days of energy reserves are needed (batteries operating between 70 % and 100 % of charge).<\/p>\n

In contrast, a lithium-ion battery will still achieve an efficiency of 90 % under mild discharge conditions.<\/p>\n

Can be connected in parallel<\/h3>\n

Batteries can be connected in parallel. Series connection is not possible.
\nUse only in vertical position.<\/p>\n
