The Victron EM540 3 phase energy meter - max 65A\/phase - REL200100100 is a standard device for measuring the power and energy of an application.\u00a0three-phase<\/span>for example in the distribution box or to measure the output of a PV inverter, an AC generator or an inverter or inverter\/charger.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0EM540 <\/span>\u00a0can be configured with four different functions in one GX device, such as the Victron Cerbo GX MK2 Monitoring - BPP900451100<\/a>:<\/p>\n

  1. As a network counter and control input to an ESS system.<\/li>\n
  2. To measure the output of a PV inverter.<\/li>\n
  3. To measure the output of an AC generator.<\/li>\n
  4. As an AC meter to measure the output of an inverter or inverter\/charger.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

    It offers\u00a0two options<\/span>\u00a0for connection to a GX device:<\/p>\n

    1. A wired connection, using the\u00a0RS485 to USB interface\u00a0<\/a>with a 1.8 m or 5 m cable length.<\/li>\n
    2. A wireless connection via our\u00a0Zigbee to USB converters<\/a> y Zigbee to RS485<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

      Choose between RS485 or Ethernet connection:<\/h2>\n

      The Ethernet mode will be more advantageous in installations where an Ethernet network is available. Instead of running an RS485 cable between the main AC distribution panel and the storage system, the existing Ethernet can be used. The disadvantage is that this is dependent on the network functioning correctly; in case of problems, the storage system will go into standby mode: passthrough.
      \nEM24, EM3XX, EM5XX and ABB meters use vector registration for energy metering. This is the preferred method in countries such as Germany and Austria, and almost everywhere else. All other meters use the arithmetic register. See question P8 in the Victron energy meter manuals for more information about the differences in energy metering.<\/p>\n
