This guide walks you through the complete configuration process using a typical system: <a href=\"https:\/\/fvcomponentes.com\/en\/product-category\/solar-inverters\/inverter-chargers-48v\/\">MultiPlus-II 48\/5000<\/a>, Cerbo GX, <a href=\"https:\/\/fvcomponentes.com\/en\/product-category\/solar-charging-regulators\/mppt-regulators\/\">SmartSolar MPPT<\/a> and a 48 V lithium battery (<a href=\"https:\/\/fvcomponentes.com\/en\/product-category\/batteries\/48v-lithium-batteries\/\">Pylontech, Pytes or ZYC<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>MultiPlus-II (or Quattro) inverter-charger with updated firmware.<\/li><li>GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX) with an internet connection for VRM.<\/li><li>MPPT controller connected to the GX via VE.Direct or VE.Can.<\/li><li>Battery with CAN communication (recommended) or manual voltage profile.<\/li><li>Optional grid meter (single-phase Energy Meter ET112, ET340 or three-phase EM24) if there are loads that do not pass through the inverter.<\/li><li>A computer with VEConfigure (VE Configuration Tools package) and an MK3-USB cable, or remote configuration via VRM.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Firmware and communication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1. Update the MultiPlus-II firmware to the latest version (VictronConnect or VRM \u2192 Remote Configuration).<\/li><li>2. Connect the MultiPlus-II to the GX via the VE.Bus port using a straight-through RJ45 cable.<\/li><li>3. Connect the battery to the GX\u2019s VE.Can\/BMS-Can port using the CAN Type A cable and set the port speed to 500 kbit\/s. The battery should appear in the GX\u2019s device list.<\/li><li>4. Active <strong>DVCC<\/strong> in GX (Settings \u2192 DVCC \u2192 Enable). See <a href=\"https:\/\/fvcomponentes.com\/en\/victron-dvcc-what-it-is-and-how-to-set-it-up\/\">DVCC guide<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: VEConfigure, General and Network tabs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Network code:<\/strong> Select the option corresponding to Spain (in recent versions, \u201cSpain\u201d \/ in accordance with current connection regulations; in older installations, \u201cOther\u201d was used with manual settings). An installer password (Victron) is required; if you do not have one, please open a support ticket and we will provide it to you upon purchase of the equipment.<\/li><li>Switch off the \u201cUPS function\u201d if you are going to use a generator; for normal mains power, it can remain switched on.<\/li><li>AC input voltage: default range 180\u2013265 V.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: \u2018Loader\u2019 tab<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For lithium batteries with CAN communication, the exact values are set by the BMS via DVCC; however, it also configures safe values:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Battery type: Lithium.<\/li><li>Absorption: <strong>52,0 V<\/strong> (Pylontech\/Pytes\/ZYC); flotation <strong>51,0 V<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Charging current: the maximum current supported by the battery bank (for example, 100 A for two Pylontech US5000 units). With DVCC, the BMS will reduce this if necessary.<\/li><li>No CAN communication: absorption 52.5 V, float 51.5 V, absorption time 1 h, low-voltage cut-off 47 V.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4: ESS wizard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1. \u2018Wizards\u2019 tab \u2192 Add \u2192 <strong>ESS (Energy Storage System)<\/strong>.<\/li><li>2. Battery type: \u201cLithium with other type of BMS\u201d or \u201cLithium with Victron BMS\u201d, as applicable.<\/li><li>3. Low-voltage cut-off voltage (sustain): 48 V for 48 V lithium.<\/li><li>4. Dynamic reset voltage: leave at the default setting.<\/li><li>5. Save and send the settings to the inverter. The inverter will restart.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have an external network meter, you don\u2019t need to do anything in VEConfigure: it\u2019s configured on the GX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5: ESS settings on the Cerbo GX<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Settings \u2192 ESS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Mode:<\/strong> \u201cOptimised (with BatteryLife)\u201d for everyday use; \u201cOptimised (without BatteryLife)\u201d if you want to get the most out of your battery every day; \u201cKeep batteries charged\u201d for backup only.<\/li><li><strong>Network measurement:<\/strong> \u201cInverter\/charger\u201d if all loads are connected to the AC output; \u201cExternal mains meter\u201d if there are loads upstream of the inverter.<\/li><li><strong>Minimum SOC (discharge):<\/strong> 10\u201320 % for lithium. Keep some in reserve if you want a backup in the event of power cuts.<\/li><li><strong>Limit network injection:<\/strong> Select \u201cNo feed-in\u201d for self-consumption with no surplus, or set the maximum authorised power.<\/li><li><strong>Limiting the inverter\u2019s power output:<\/strong> optional, for example, to ensure that the contracted power is not exceeded.<\/li><li><strong>Network point adjustment:<\/strong> 30\u201350 W to prevent oscillations; when the reading is zero, the system attempts to achieve exactly 0 W of power exchange.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6: MPPT and solar priority<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With DVCC and MPPT enabled on the GX, the system automatically prioritises: solar \u2192 loads, then the battery, then the grid (if permitted). Check on the GX that the MPPT is shown as \u201cCharging\u201d and that the battery is receiving current from it. If you want the MPPT to feed into the grid, enable \u201cFeed-in excess DC-coupled PV\u201d under Settings \u2192 ESS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 7: Check in VRM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the VRM dashboard, you should see: solar generation, consumption, battery status (SOC and current) and grid flow. A properly configured ESS keeps the power exchange with the grid close to 0 W during the day and discharges the battery at night down to the minimum SOC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common problems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>The inverter draws power from the grid even when the sun is shining:<\/strong> MPPT is not enabled on the GX, or ESS mode is set to \u201cKeep batteries charged\u201d.<\/li><li><strong>It is posted online despite the message \u201cNo injection\u201d:<\/strong> The meter is set to \u201cInverter\/charger\u201d, but there are loads before the inverter; fit a mains meter.<\/li><li><strong>#67 or battery with no data:<\/strong> CAN communication.
