Integrated Bluetooth Smart

The Victron Phoenix Smart IP43 12/50 (1+1) 230V charger is the wireless solution for configuring, monitoring, controlling and updating Phoenix Smart IP43 chargers.

Phoenix Smart (1+1): two outputs for charging 2 battery banks

The second output, limited to approximately 3 A and with a slightly lower output voltage, is intended for recharging a starter battery.

Phoenix Smart (3): three full-current outputs for charging 3 battery banks

Each output can supply the full rated output current. But the total of the 3 outputs combined can never exceed the current rating of the charger.

Automatic voltage compensation

The charger compensates for the voltage drop in the DC wiring by slightly increasing the output voltage when the DC current increases. Refer to the manual for more information.

6-stage adaptive charging algorithm: volume, absorption, reconditioning, floating, storage, refreshing

The Phoenix Smart Charger features our popular 'adaptive' battery management system that can be pre-set to suit different types of batteries. The 'adaptive' feature will automatically optimise the charging process in relation to how the battery is used.

The right amount of load: variable absorption time

When only shallow discharges occur (e.g. a grounded yacht) the absorption time is kept short to avoid overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is fully charged. Prevention of damage due to excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode (see fig. 2) If, in order to charge a battery quickly, a high charge current in combination with a high absorption has chosen voltage, the charger will prevent damage due to excessive gassing automatically by limiting the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage has been reached (see the charging curve between 14.4 V and 15.0 V in fig. 2).

Less maintenance and ageing when the battery is not in use: storage mode

The storage mode is activated as long as the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimise gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to 'equalise' the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, a major factor in early battery failure.

also charges lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO₄)

On/off control of the charger can be implemented by connecting a relay or open collector optocoupler output from a lithium-ion BMS to the remote on/off port. Alternatively, full voltage and current control can be achieved with Bluetooth.

Fully programmable charging algorithm

The charging algorithm can be programmed with the help of Bluetooth or the VE.Direct interface. Three pre-programmed algorithms can be selected with the mode button (see specifications).

Temperature and voltage sensing of the optional external battery via Bluetooth

A smart battery sensor, SmartShunt or BMV-712 smart battery monitor can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature to one or more Phoenix Smart IP43 chargers via VE.Smart Networks.

Remote on/off

The remote on/off consists of two terminals: Remote H and Remote L. A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected between H and L. Alternatively, the H terminal can be placed high, or the L terminal can be pulled low. See manual for details.

VE.Direct interface

For a wired data connection to a GX device, such as a Cerbo GXPC or other devices. It also allows instant readout functionality via VictronConnect remotely from VRM. See VictronConnect implementation.

Programmable relay

It can be programmed using the VE.Direct interface or a Bluetooth-enabled device to trigger an alarm or other events.

Delivery deadlines

At FVComponents.com we have stock of the references with the highest turnover, however our catalogue is so wide and economical because we work with many of the references on request. This means that the usual delivery time of 2-4 working days can be extended to 1-2 weeks + subsequent shipment by us. Thanks to this, we can offer very competitive and attractive prices to our customers that are difficult to match. If you wish, you can write to us via the chat on the website, call us at 968 97 83 01 or write to us at [email protected] to check if we have stock or the delivery time of the component you wish to purchase before finalising your order.
